Alaska
While in the major cities of Alaska, you will find more trucks and SUV’s, but that doesn’t mean smaller cars are unusable, as long as you have snow tires or chains. But some parts of Alaska, transportation gets a little trickier. With major cities such as the capitol, Juneau, there isn’t much to worry about, but going north to, say, “the top of the world” city Barrow, the only way there is by plane. And no, no major airline sort of thing. You would be traveling by those little propeller planes, and only during times of the year when the weather conditions aren’t so severe. In Barrow, the highest temperature usually only reaching 35 degrees Fahrenheit, it can be pretty chilly.
Other forms of transportation are via water ways. From ships to ferries, by water can help you travel. But then, Alaska has a very unique form of transportation. One that has races involved and movies made about. Yes, I am talking about dog sleds. It’s a fun, unique thing to see, and with the beautiful huskies used for pulling the sled, it’s something the whole family can enjoy watching. It’s not common, and to move there doesn’t mean you would be traveling in such a way, but knowing your state has spunk is always fun.
So whether you’re visiting the magnificent landscape, the quaint cities, studying it’s history and culture, Alaska is a great state for something new. And if you’re planning on moving to or from this state and don’t want to take the strenuous and costly drive to the continental U.S., using auto transport is the best solution for you.
