Los Angeles has a population of over 3.8 million residents, which makes it the largest city in the state of California and it is also the second largest city in California, directly after New York City. It was founded in 1781 as, translated, “The Village of Our Lady, the Queen of the Angeles of Porziuncola, and it was founded by the Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 and again a part of the US in 1848. It is considered a global city and it is a world center for business, culture, education, technology, trade, fashion and science.

During the summer months temperatures in the city hit around 87 degrees or so during the day, with average lows often dropping down to around 68 degrees or so overnight. During the winter months, however, temperatures drop to around 67 degrees during the day, with overnight lows typically dropping to around 45 degrees.
